Equiclause — Digital Templates & Online Resources
This policy explains your rights when you buy a digital template or online resource from Equiclause, and applies to all products sold via our website, Etsy shop, or any other Equiclause storefront. It's written to comply with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
1. The Nature of Digital Products
All Equiclause products (templates, forms, and other downloadable resources) are supplied as digital content, delivered electronically rather than as physical goods. Because of this, different cancellation rules apply than for physical items — these are explained below.
2. Your Right to Cancel Before Download
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, when you buy digital content online you ordinarily have a 14-day "cooling-off" period during which you can cancel your order and receive a full refund.
However, because our products are delivered instantly as downloadable files, this cooling-off period is only meaningful before you access or download the file. At checkout, you will be asked to:
- expressly consent to the immediate supply of the digital content, and
- acknowledge that, once download begins, you lose your right to cancel.
If you give this consent and acknowledgement and then proceed to download your file, your statutory right to cancel ends at that point — this reflects the legal position for digital downloads under the 2013 Regulations, and is why we ask for this confirmation before any file is released to you.
In practice: if you complete your purchase and download a template, standard cancellation-for-any-reason refunds are not available, because the product has been fully supplied. This is a legal position, not an Equiclause-specific restriction.
3. If You Haven't Downloaded Your File
If, for any reason, you have completed a purchase but have not yet downloaded the file, and it is still within 14 days of your order, you may contact us to cancel and receive a full refund. Once the download link has been accessed, this right no longer applies (see Section 2).
4. Faulty, Incomplete, or Misdescribed Products
Your rights here are separate from — and not affected by — the cooling-off waiver above. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you are entitled to a refund, replacement, or repair if:
- the file you downloaded is corrupted, incomplete, or does not open correctly;
- the product does not match the description given at the time of purchase; or
- we did not have the right to supply the content to you.
If any of these apply, please contact us within a reasonable time of discovering the issue at EquiClause Contact Form, and we will put things right — normally by supplying a corrected file, but a refund will be offered where that isn't possible or appropriate.
5. Incorrect Purchases
If you accidentally purchase the wrong template or bundle, please contact us as soon as possible at EquiClause Contact Form. If you have not yet downloaded the incorrect file, we're happy to correct the order or issue a refund. If the file has already been downloaded, this will be treated in line with Section 2 above, though we'll always try to help resolve genuine mistakes fairly.
6. How to Request a Refund
Where a refund is due under this policy, please email EquiClause Contact Form with your order number and a brief explanation. We aim to respond within 3 business days, and approved refunds will be returned to your original payment method within 5 business days of approval.
7. Products Bought as Part of a Bundle
Where a refund is approved for one item within a multi-template bundle (for example, under Section 4), the refund will reflect the proportionate value of that item, not the full bundle price, unless the fault affects the bundle as a whole.
8. Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Where any part of this policy is found to conflict with those statutory rights, your statutory rights take precedence.
9. Contact Us
